The birthers are small fringe group with about as much support as the lefties who tried to disqualify McCain for being born in a US territory. You are smearing with a broad brush in clear attempt to dehumanize anybody who dares to disagree with you.

Taxes are going up because government is getting bigger. It’s been getting bigger under the last three Presidents. Obama is just continuing a trend, but he’s also massively increasing the pace of the growth of government, creating larger deficits and looking for new ways to raise taxes (VAT for example).
Jesus fuck. Obama *had* to increase the deficit to deal with the economic crash. McCain would have had to do that too. Palin would have had to. ANyone would have had to. It was either that or let western capitalism fall.
Now there is the prospect of taxes being raised to pay for it, you are freaking out?
Let’s try to get to some sort of consensus here. Government expenditure is too big. The trouble is that neither side wants to address that. The tea partiers don’t want to either. They want their entitlements to remain and everyone else’s to be cut (just as it happens like everyone else ;>).

Let’s get back to the point. You are complaining about fiscal irresponsibility by the government. Yet all you offer is political obstruction and obfuscation, and right-wing media coverage which is all about whipping the populace into a frenzy of ignorant outrage.
Incisive news coverage is good. Politicians should be closely examined and criticised where they do not keep their promises and where they act unwisely…
But the political debate in America is, frankly, nuts, and the coverage by much of Fox News borders on the insane.
Is it right that the Republican Party should find itself dancing to the tune of a news network? Is it right that this news network sponsors and promotes political rallies?
What astounds me is that time and time again right-wingers offer the mindbending response that ‘everyone else is biased so fox needs to be more biased the other way to make up for it.”

63% of Americans think their taxes are going to go up.
That is from a Gallup poll of the general adult population, not a focused poll of voters or even likely voters. Either Obama’s communications skills are not that great, and the population at large hasn’t gotten his often repeated claim that people making less than $250,000 year will not see their taxes go up, or they have heard him and don’t believe him. Which do you think it is?
We have Fox News openly lying about people going to prison over healthcare, and openly promoting anti-government, anti-tax protests, and we have CNN trying to jump on their populist bandwagon, and you are “surprised” that people don’t trust the government? lolzor. People believing bullshit does not make it true.
