The amount the U.S. military spends annually on air conditioning in Iraq and Afghanistan: $20.2 billion.

That’s more than NASA’s budget. It’s more than BP has paid so far for damage during the Gulf oil spill. It’s what the G-8 has pledged to help foster new democracies in Egypt and Tunisia.

Sarah Palin doubles down on her bizarro mangling of the Paul Revere story.

Here is the “shout out, gotcha type of question” which so confused the former Vice-Presidential candidate:

“What have you seen so far today, and what are you going to take away from your visit?”

Meanwhile an apparent supporter of Ms Palin has been trying to edit the Wikipedia entry on Paul Revere to give her support to her account. His source for the accuracy of Ms Palin’s claims? Why, Ms Palin herself:

Sarah Palin is a former governor of Alaska as well as a presidential candidate [sic] of one of the two national parties in the United States. Her account of Paul Revere’s famous ride has achieved national attention from most mainstream media — LA Times, CNN, you name it. There are numerous reliable sources quoted her exact words on this subject…

This is beyond ignorant. This is beyond stupid. This is insane.

This is normal for Sarah Palin.

Sarah Palin is dumber than a box of rocks. She still has the rubes fooled tho. This, from a Youtube comment:

Hey, libtards - Just because Sarah is smarter than you, better looking than you, more dedicated to America than you, and going to Heaven while you are going to Hell, doesn’t mean you should hate her. You should try to be more like her.

Intrade gives a 41.9% chance of Sarah Palin formally announcing a run for President before midnight ET on 31 Dec 2011. God help America…

“When you talk about guns you always hear a lot about the Second Amendment and the Founding Fathers and what they would say if they were here. Well, I for one think if the Founding Fathers were here today, they would be super freaked out by cars. You could talk to them all you want about the Second Amendment and all they would say is, “What are all these metal beasts doing rolling down the thoroughfare?!” and then you’d tell them, “Those are cars!” and you’d try and talk to them about militias and they would say, “How can you speak of militias when steel dragons scream through the sky?!” And you’d say “Those are airplanes,” but even if they could eventually wrap their heads around that, they’d ask, “Why are all the slaves out?!” And they would think that. You can groan all you want, but they would think that.” Seth Meyers being amazing. (via gaywitchpracticingabortion)

American Family Association’s Bryan Fischer: Make Profanity and Blasphemy Illegal

The American Family Association’s head loon, Bryan Fischer, thinks that since Ed Schultz was suspended from MSNBC for using the word “slut,” the federal government has the right to make blasphemy and profanity illegal… Another one of those “limited government” right wingers.

Jon Stewart parodies Glenn Beck.

If you’ve ever seen Glenn Beck before, you need to watch this. It is the single most brilliant video in the history of forever.

“One party, the Democrats, suffers from the usual range of institutional blind spots, historical foibles, and constituency-driven evasions. The other, the Republicans, has moved to a mental Shangri-La, where unwanted problems (climate change, the need to pay the costs of running the government) can be wished away, prejudice trumps fact (Obama might just be Kenyan-born or a Muslim), expertise is evidence of error, and reality itself comes to be regarded as some kind of elitist plot.” Birtherism, the debt ceiling, climate change, evolution: Are Republicans losing their grip on reality? etrehumain:

Good concept but I wouldn’t buy it because (1) it’s photoshopped text over a real shirt, (2) it utilizes Arial, and (3) I’ve never voted Republican.
